Our commitment to AAA Sustainable Quality™
News Stories
Only around 1% of coffee in the world has the quality, the taste and the aroma profiles required for Nespresso Grands Crus. As a consequence, such coffees are rare and precious, and need to be preserved and protected.
For the past six years we have been working with Rainforest Alliance and members of the Sustainable Agriculture Network to design and implement our unique Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality™ Coffee Program. This program sets out to ensure the cultivation of highest quality coffee in ways that are environmentally sustainable and beneficial to farming communities, thus ensuring the long-term supply of the rarest coffees in the world.
Currently we are working with over 25,000 farmers in five coffee producing countries, and nearly 50% of our coffee is sourced from the program. We have a new goal of sourcing 80% of Nespresso coffee from our AAA Sustainable Quality™ Coffee Program, Rainforest Alliance certified, by 2013.
